Film directors are usually who directs the making of a film.
A Film director has many jobs but usually still to the artistic and dramatic aspects within a film. Production design, the creative aspects of film making and choosing cast members are all chosen by the film directors.
Directors need to maintain a creative vision and be able to read the film and plan out its best outcome because they are responsible for most of the crew. Directors used different approaches to get their profession some would go to a film school a study for 5 years to receive a full degree and some would start as screen writers, film editors and actors.
Screen writers write screen plays which go on to be used in television, movies, comics or even video games these are known as mass medias. They are not hired employees. They are known as freelancers who are contracted.

A runner is basically a PA for everyone on set so their responsibility within the place would be to do simple jobs such as gets coffee and tea but all tasks that the runner has to do usually involve and insinuate within the studio.

Within a film and television industry there is a constraint. A constraint is a legal obligation in the form of a limitation restrain. There are 2 types of constraints that are regulated in the TV and film industry.
1. Legal regulatory contractual obligation.
2. Constraints practiced but not entirely functional with law.
Employment legislation.
Employment terms and conditions are set standards and laws that stop employees from suffering from dangerous, unhealthy, or unsafe environments and situations.
All employees and deemed fit for have the same rights also known as equal rights.
Ethical.
When looking at ethical issues within the workplace it is focusing on the social issues that can occur in the workplace. Ethical morals are usually more specific to each workplace with focus upon certain issues. Ethical issues come under various different codes of practice such as health and safety. Some laws link both with the legal and ethical laws, a good example being the Equal Opportunities Act 2010, which covers stopping discrimination, sexual harassment and victimization.
Legal.
There are laws that are more specific to the television and film industry, one of these being the British Board of Film Classification, which is a company that looks at the certificate classification of films. The BBFC is known as a media regulator. The government does not run this company, nor does it gain any profit. The company is there to provide a service that provides films with a classified age certificate.
Equality is something that is required by law within a workspace. There are acts that provide equality for people and they are…
1. Sexual discrimination act 1975. An act to render unlawful certain kinds of sex discrimination and other discriminations
2. Race relations act 1976. Acts that enforce that know one shall be judged upon the colour of their skin or ethnicity when going for a job or anything else.
3. Equal pay act 1976. An act to prevent discrimination, as regards terms and conditions of employment, between men and women.
4. Disability discrimination act 1995. This act will enforce the law that no person shall be treated differently because of having anything that proves they have a disability and also they should have the same opportunity.
5. Human rights act 1998. An act to give further effect to rights and freedoms guaranteed under the European convention on human rights to make provision with respect to holders of certain of certain judicial offices who become judges of the European court of human rights and for connected purposes.

A contract is known as an a agreement with specific terms between two or more persons or entities in which there is a promise to do something in return for a valuable benefit known as consideration. Within the television and film industries these contracts still apply as they would in any other job that you would apply for. Here are some of the contracts that you need to be aware of when having a job with the television and film industry.

The reason that this contract is enforced is so that your own personal and sensitive information is not made public without your own consent or knowledge. Once both the employer and the employee have signed a contract then it means that if this contract is broken then legal consequences can be enforced.

Who owns companies like BSKYB?
BSKYB was announced the largest subscription television company on the 13th of November 2014. This was after expanding to sky Italia and sky Deutschland. Sky is the largest pat TV broadcaster in Europe with over 20 million subscribers. BSKYB offers different subscriptions to match people’s income or what they watch and what they are willing to pay. Another organization that does this is virgin media and sky and virgin media as seen as big competitors within the organization. Virgin media also offers subscriptions to suit people’s lifestyles.
Channel 4 is an organization that can be classed as commercial and private.
Channel 4 is a publicly owned, commercially funded public service broadcaster. They do not receive public funding of any sort and also they do not require any sort of subscriptions.
