Task 1 understanding the elements of storytelling for games.
Story telling is important because it has shaped the way we think of the past especially cave paintings. Stories have been around before recorded history. Story telling forms have came to exist through the time from cave paintings to novels, movies and even computer games.
A form of story telling is using oral traditions. For example Fable, myths and legends. This form adds image of a historical background because usually most myth types are used to show past gossip. This sort of form is used within adventure games such as Fable 1 to 3. Fable was a trilogy of games that let you start from a kid to a grown up within a realm that allows the impossible to happen but at the same time it showed the past within Victorian times.
Another form of story telling is Cave paintings. Cave paintings were one of the earliest forms of story telling. Even though cave painting helped us have an insight on life in the past it also come have as a form of art. Cave painters usually would paint in memory imagery. They painted what they remembered and used the walls to keep a diary of autobiography. Fable is a source of story telling that is written short that in a condensed way that ends up having a moral. Known as pocket sized tales1
Genre is another element of story telling. Genres in games all differentiate from action, platforms, racing, fighting, adventure and more. A Platform is the hardware built to support a game. Currently the platforms that in are PS4, XBOX ONE, WII, PSP and PC. The basic definition of what is a platform is that you buy games for certain consoles and if there was only one of the same platforms for everything then the hardware (platform) would allow you to access the information (disk game) within any hardware but because they all have separate platforms therefore you can not access it, unless your platform supports it. Other genres such as action, platforms, racing, fighting, adventure and so on are what the games are based on for example Call of duty advanced warfare is a game that contains a lot of action and like many games they have age appropriate rating and other signs that show you the important things in the game you need to know such as violence, swearing, intercourse and more and this game would be rated as an 18 because it contains swearing, violence and action.
The most important element of storytelling is a storyline as a story that goes no where will not draw in a player and will more often that not turn away the prayer.
One of the aim thing that helps a story is that people actually see a character show sort of personality or has very little besides one particular feature such as anger then people find it hard to playing as them since they become boring.
Emotional themes and emotions are used in characters in the stories for games. The characters emotions will always effect the gamers outcome and feelings to the game an at the moment when they are playing it. An emotion being portrayed in a game that is photo-realistic works extremely well on a player as they feel as if they can understand what the character is feeling and it is an excellent way to influence players decisions in game.
I will try and include as much emotional themes as possible for my game because I feel as emotions is a way to better describe you’re game and show it.

Task 2
Back-story
I tried to create a new story to my game that didn’t exist but I found that hard so I am adding to the to the sort of theme that Rock star uses to there most successful games, Grand Theft Auto sequels. It all starts with a British theme instead of the classical American lifestyle. My character is customized with looks but his characteristics never change. He is a person that has had a hard life and in his late teen he got caught up in the wrong situation that was not his fault or intention and ended up serving time for it. He come out of jail where he finds everything has changed and he is out to seek vengeance. Even though he lives with his aunty and he has nothing for a start up, he manages to overcome unbelievable tasks leading to him having the opportunity to finish of the person that ruined his life, only to have an epiphany.

His name is Trife.
Age 24
Slender figure
He is controlled just like any other abled body with movements such as crouch, walk, job, sprint, jump and he also has some physical ulcerations, so he is able to fight with moves such as jab, hook kick and other fighting techniques and he is also able to use weapons such as bats and sticks and for a more thorough weapon he can use guns and what not.
Through out the game he plays year from year in a faster time warp but he is unable to grown in age. He is also able to change styles for e.g. visiting stores to purchase clothes. I want the character to be able to do most of the things that I can as a person to make the game as emotive and close to reality as possible.
He has a family but only his aunt will take him in after his indescribable actions that sent him to prison
The plot devise all builds up from revenge as you can see in my backstory.
